Joshua was admitted to the English Bar as a Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple) in 1993 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1995.
Following his admission to the Singapore Bar, Joshua commenced his legal career at a premier law firm in Singapore where he practised as a litigator, specialising in commercial litigation handling a variety of banking and insolvency matters. In 1997, Joshua left to join a criminal law practice where he gained experience in criminal litigation, among others.
Joshua has a diverse practice encompassing commercial litigation, individual and corporate insolvency, debt recovery, matrimonial matters, adoption, estate matters, insurance claims and personal injuries actions, construction claims, arbitration, dispute resolutions and criminal law. Beside litigation, Joshua is also an experienced conveyancer and has acted for developers in development projects and transactions involving both residential and commercial properties.
Joshua also advises on corporate and commercial law and has acted for companies (both private and public listed) in advising them on joint ventures, acquisitions, distributorship and license agreements, and cross-boundaries transactions. Beside English, Joshua is also conversant in Mandarin and major Chinese dialects such as Hakka, Teochew, Hokkien and Cantonese.
